Late Late Late

  • Dec. 11th, 2007 at 8:29 AM

No we haven't abandoned the site. The down and dirty is that Renae has decide to move on after continues delays. We waited and waited to only be told that she wasn't coming back. So we are very late with updates and no artist. In comes our colorist Richard Pollard. Richard drew comics for years. I recently dragged him back in the biz with coloring, will now he is penciling and coloring. He's got a head start on pages and looks to be moving along. I know that doesn't explain why I dropped the ball on the Majestic updates. After so many weeks we figure that a reboot would be best. So we have six months of Majestic posted and Richard is several weeks ahead.
How are we going to keep this from happening again?
Mitch Byrd is illustrating a B&R one shot titled Blood and Roses: Wild, Wild Future. He has already turned in 12 pages out of 24. It looks great and yes it has dinosaurs. Mitch is a good friend. We've always talked about working on B&R again and Mitch found a little down time to draw this story. I will be illustrating my first work in along time called Blood and Roses: Nazi Werewolves and Dracula. It's a little different story but fits in with the current back ground of B&R. Hopefully Richard will be working on Blood and Roses" Heroes". The superheroes storyline of the current Timelords saga. With all of this work be created the B&R site should be good for the next few months/years.
Another reason that I was pulled from B&R is that I've been working on creating a new company titled comicsXP.  comicsXP will offer everyone the ability to sell their comics digitally like itunes sells music. I'll be posting more as it develops.
Coming to the comics near you... we hope.
I have finally offered the first issue of B&R Timelords by Renae, Chris, Richard and myself to Diamond for a January release. Also for February we offered B&R The Art this book will collect artwork from all the different artist that has worked on B&R over the past fifteen years.
That it for now...

WizWorld Chicago was great!

  • Aug. 13th, 2007 at 4:54 PM

Chicago was great. The BLOOD & ROSES: IN THE DARK #1 comics arrived on friday. B&R: ITD #1 is the first full color comic in fifteen years so needless to say we where excited. The first copies flew off the table as soon as we placed down. That continued through out the weekend. We also sold several copies of the hardcover Majestic collections to fans wanting to read the entire story to date. I had the opportunity to meet several of the online readers and talk to them about our future plans.
I'll be posting the convention edition of B&R: ITD #1 up on the B&R online store later this week along with a few other items.
I will try to do more updates.

Now sleep...

take care,
Robert

Sorry!

  • Jul. 11th, 2007 at 7:29 PM

I apologize for the  down time in my post. I'll try to keep updates and what's happening here and the studio news page.

I'd like to thank everyone who has purchase items off of the website. This helps to pay the bills of the site and keep the B&R site going, so thanks. If you haven't bought anything then please look around we've got a ton of items and when you order we throw in addition FREE stuff.

The reason's for not updating is that we have been very busy with B&R and Blue Line Art. I've recently repackage most of our products for Blue Line Art to sell in art stores such as Pearl and others. The cool thing is Chris and Tam is on several of the products now in color.
I also wrapped up writing the second B&R chapter and made ton's of notes for future storylines.
What I've still got to do is create the first Creates Print for sale at the website. It's on my list to do soon.

News.
Renae has agreed to illustrate the second chapter of B&R: In The Dark. This will complete our first storyline.
I recently got to meet Renae at the N.C. Charlotte convention. As I suspected she's a very nice young artist that has tons of potential of being a great artist in the comic industry. I'm very happy that she makes time for B&R.
I will be appearing at Wizard World Chicago. I'll be in the Blue Line Pro booth facing artist alley. Please stop by and let me know what you think about B&R so far. I'll have all the B&R stuff to sell and yes all the proceeds from convention sells will go toward the artist and keeping the site going. Also Chris Drier will be there showing off his next Unit Primes project.

Thats it for know. Thanks for your support.

take care,
Robert

Two Months Old and Growing

  • May. 1st, 2007 at 8:10 AM

In just under two months we have had over 3500 users to the B&R site. Many of those have found us througn ads from other sites like Girl Genius and some have found us with the voting sites. This is great but we've still got along way to go so please continue to tell everyone about B&R.
Last post I talked about the NAMTA show in Chicago. The show was fun but a lot different then a comic show. Lots of suits and ties. I have a few prints still available fromt he show so I'll be dropping them into orders from the B&R store until they are gone for free.
I will be trying to get the creative team from B&R to join me on the B&R forums on Wednesday evenings to talk and discuss B&R and anything else. If you haven't joined you'll need to before the event. I'll be posting a event for next wednesday and see what happens.
I'll be posting new wallpaper for the donation area next week. Also the first Creator Fund print will go on sell this month. I'll make a note on the B&R site once it's available.

take care,
Robert

NAMTA SHOW in Chicago

  • Apr. 6th, 2007 at 4:00 PM

We had a slight problem with the Donation button not transfering the donator to the Free wallpaper on the Blood and Roses site. This problem has been fixed and with any luck I'll be posting a new wallpaper for donations next week. Since we are so new I'll be leaving the first donation wallpaper up so you can download both.
If anyone is going to the NAMTA art supply show on April 19-20 in Chicago stop by and say hi. I'll be at the Blue Line Art booth signing art prints of B&R.
That's it for now I've got to finish the painting for the NAMTA show and send it off to the printer. I'll post a image of the painting somewhere on the B&R site once I get back.

take care,
Robert

Top 50

  • Mar. 30th, 2007 at 10:26 AM

The site conitnues to run smoothly thank goodness. Things has been crazy around here with Blue Line Art and our comic shop getting ready for FCBD.
In under three weeks the site has reached the top 50 under the Sci-Fi catagory of the BuzzComic site and we just broke the top 300 under the main catagory. We are wanting to reach the top ten. These sites help bring in new readers which we need so please vote and pass the word around.
Again thanks for stoping by and spread the word.

take care,
Robert

A Long Week...

  • Mar. 24th, 2007 at 12:09 PM

This has been one of the longest week in a while. Between being busy at Blue Line Art with a couple publication that was running late. Prepping the comic store "Comics 2Games" for it's up coming events and fixing a few minor problems on the B&R site I'm just about exhausted.
I know quit bitching.
ok.
The Bloodandroses.com site has reached over 1,000 viewers within just a few days of going on line. This is great and the response has been great. Many old fans are enjoying the earlier work and loving the all new story in color.
Chris Dreier has just turned in page 14 of B&R: In the Dark and it looks great. Renae is really in a groove with the characters and Chris is hammering the inks. I can't wait to see these pages in color.
We are working on the B&R animation. I've gotten a couple of the character design finished and broke down the opening scene. If all goes well we should begin to animate after the summer... early fall. I'll be posting designs and stuff on the B&R Sketch page. For those of you who haven't heard we are producing a animated short for B&R about 6 minutes long. The look is different then you seen before for B&R more saturday morning without the censors.
We continue to work on the StormQuestonline.com site. It should be up within the next couple months. The biggest delay is that I've decide to publish the Tempered Steele origin issue in color on line. I've been flatting a couple pages at a time and will soon have to find a colorist to finish them. I just don't have the time to do the finish color right now.
Next week I'm starting the first B&R print for the Creators Fund. I'm hoping that it won't take to long and we'll get the prints up for sell soon. Check the story pages for more details. Remember all the funds from these prints and sells on the store goes toward paying the creators and keeping B&R going.
We have the Blood and Roses: Majestic graphic novels available in the studio store. And we still have a few copies of the hardcovers. Once these are gone we won't reprint the hardcovers editions so stop by and grab one.
That's it for now.
take care,
Robert

It's Alive!!!

  • Mar. 15th, 2007 at 11:17 AM

Blood and Roses website is up and running. With a lot of studio work along with help from the good folks at Keenspot we have B&R working. I'm very excited that we will be able to bring new B&R pages in COLOR. I love it. This site is the most in-depth site for B&R ever. And I've got a lot more to upload down the road.
Now I'm prepping the StormQuestonline.com site. This will be Skystorm Studios hero site. It include StormQuest, Tempered Steels, Hellgirl, Savage Family and Darkness Chronicles. Sounds like a lot but many of these stories are complete and ready to post. Our lead will be StormQuest. Over the next year we will be posting 2 pages per day with hopes of having new stories to follow.

Not as easy as it looks

  • Mar. 9th, 2007 at 11:19 AM

I have been working on the new Blood and Roses site now for two weeks. Let me tell you its not as easy as it looks. All of the new pages are designed, but we are having trouble with the cgi scripts. With any luck we will have the problem fixed and we can get the site launched. I believe it's going to be a lot of fun once we get over these few bumps.

Next Wednesday B&R: Majestic is shipping to stores. I signed all of the hardcover books for a added bonus before shipping. If your store doesn't carry it we have copies available in the studios store.

take care
Robert

I'm setting up this live journal to document and keep readers up-to-date with what we are doing here at Skystorm Studios.
I'm working on the relaunch of the Blood and Roses site. We hope to have it finished by the end of this week. When it relaunches it will have new content ever Monday, Wednesday and Friday. What I mean by new content is that we are going to give away a new page of artwork three times a week. Monday and Friday you will receive a new page of Blood and Roses Majestic and on Wednesday you will receive a new page of the latest B&R work TimeLords Saga: Infinity.
I'll better explain everything on the relaunch. So get ready to enjoy the B&R universe.
Also we will be launching the STORMQUESTONLINE.COM site within the next couple weeks also with new content two times a week. Tuesdays and Thursdays so you will have new content everyday of the week form Skystorm Studios available on-line.
All we ask is that you consider supporting us with paypal or shop purchases so we can continue to create new material.
